Exciting Announcement: Welcome Coach Mark Calahan to the Irish!

We’re thrilled to announce that Coach Mark Calahan has been named the new Head Coach of the Kankakee Irish for the upcoming 2025–2026 season!

Coach Mark brings with him 32 years of coaching experience at every level—from mites to midgets and high school, including top-tier programs like NIHL AA and Central States. Most recently, he served as Head Coach for the Central States Prospects and the Chicago Bulldogs midget minor teams. His passion for player development, team leadership, and high-performance training shines through his work both on and off the ice.

Mark also owns Calahan Hockey & Fitness, where he helps athletes reach their full potential through dynamic, high-energy training focused on strength, speed, agility, and endurance.

We’ll be hosting “Meet the Coach” events on and off the ice in July and August—a great chance for players and parents to connect with Coach Mark. Stay tuned for those dates!
