Coyotes Practice Only

The Kankakee Coyotes is a youth developmental hockey team based in Kankakee,Illinois. The Coyotes are dedicated to providing a fun, competitive, and developmental environment for players of all skill levels from not only Kankakee county, but also Will, and Iroquois counties. This practice only option gives your player the ability to come practice with our Coyotes during our skills practice each week, without the commitment to game or tournament play.

Ages

The Coyotes offer teams at four age levels, making it a great league for young players to start their hockey journey and continue developing as they grow. The league typically includes the following age divisions:

Mite (8U)
Squirt (10U)
Peewee (12U)
Bantam (14U)

All participants are required to have a USA Hockey number active for the 2025/2026 season

When

Paticipants will be placed with their age group to attend either the 8u/10u skills practice, or the 12u/14u skills practice each week

Practices

Skills practice is 1 time a week

8u/10u- Wednesdays 6:15pm - 7:15pm

12u/14u- Thursdays 6:45pm - 8:15pm

Jerseys

Any practice jersey will work! We recommend, if possible, to bring a light colored and dark colored jersey in the case of an on ice scrimmage during practice.

Other Equipment

All players must have USA Hockey-approved equipment, including a helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, skates, neck guard and a stick. Goaltenders must have full goalie gear. Proper equipment ensures safety and helps players perform their best on the ice.

2025-2026 Season

The 2025-2026 NWHL season takes place from October - March.
