Spring season registration is now open! 10U will be participating in the Northwest Hockey League, 12U-18U will participate in the Northern Illinois Hockey League.
We are offering an 8U Developmental Practice only, in-house program. Our goal is to focus on skating and the skills your player will need to be ready for a Mite Fall season.
Ages
Sign up according to your child's birth year.
8u (2018-2020)
10u (2016-2017)
12u (2014-2015)
14u (2012-2013)
18u (2008-2011)
When
Week of March 30 through 1st week of June
Where
Ice Valley Ice Arena and surrounding Chicago suburbs.
Practices
8u-18u will have 1 hour practices, 1 evening a week
Games
NWHL will consist of 8 game league play with a playoff tournament the weekend of May 29th.
NIHL will consist of 6-8 game league play with a playoff tournament the weekend of June 5-7th.
Jerseys
League registration will include 2 jerseys (home and away).
NOTE: socks are not included. Players will need plain black socks.
Extra Costs
Practice only option is available if not able to commit to league play. Jersey cost is not included in practice only option but can be ordered at an extra cost.
Requirements
An current USA Hockey number is required to register. If you are new to hockey and do not currently have one, please wait until April 1st to obtain one and contact our registrar Amanda Tatro at registrar@kankakeehockey.com for further instructions to register.
Spring 2026
Mites: Developmental Practice only, in-house program.
Squirts: The Spring 2026 NWHL season takes place from the end of March to end of May.
Practices start the week of March 30 and run for 10 weeks.
